General rules

  1. Configuration of rifles may not be changed from course to course.  (Bi-pods, scopes, slings etc must stay the same throughout the match).
  2. If a rifle becomes unserviceable it may be replaced with a similar rifle without penalty.
  3. If a shooter fires part of the course with a scope and the rifle becomes unserviceable, the shooter may change to a  similar rifle with iron sights, but the final score will be computed as scope rifle.
  4. Any shooter found to be using magnetic ammunition will be disqualified from the match, and may be banned from shooting in the next 3 matches.  The ban can be lifted by paying a penalty of $50 to offset repair or replacement of damaged targets.
  5. Eye and ear protection are required of participants and observers.
  6. All shooters (without disabilities) are expected to assist in scoring, picking up brass, resetting targets, and otherwise helping run the stage and match. New shooters will be taught how they can assist.
  7. New shooters will be assigned a mentor for their first match to teach them about how matches run, safety, and in general how they can better compete, be safe, and have fun.
  8. If a course of fire requires movement, the rifle shall be put on "safe" and the trigger finger shall be outside the trigger guard.  The muzzle must remain pointed down range at all times.
  9. Competitors shall carry all magazines and/or extra ammunition throughout the course of fire. Ammunition may not be placed on the ground, or on props.  Refer to #3 ten second penalty.
  10. Competitors are all expected to abide by the spirit of the course description and intent of the course designer. "Gaming" a stage in such a manner as to subvert the course designers intent and thereby gain an advantage over other shooters will be deemed un-sportsmanlike conduct.
